Vineet Bhatia has restaurants spread all across the world it is no new news that this talented Chef has spend hours in the kitchen perfecting each of his recipes to get the unique and the most lovable flavours. I had a similar experience recently when I dined at Indigo in Grosvenor House. I couldn’t stop myself from praising each and every dish which was presented in front of me and that just speaks for itself how in love I was with this restaurant.
What surprised me was as I was waiting to be seated I saw a few couples who really wanted to dine here but due to the popularity of this restaurant there wasn’t a single table available. My hopes began to rise and I eagerly waited to try out the dishes here.
Gazing at the menu I wish I could try most of the dishes there but I wanted to leave a reason to come back again so we began with some recommendations and ordered our appetizers.
*3 Chaats – A beautifully presented plate with tangy Samosa, Dahi Bhalla and Papdi Chaat. I bet if you have this dish all the other chaat places will let you down especially since the flavours are so sharp and well tailored that you feel good to have junk food for once.
*Dhaba Chicken – Two very distinct tasting chicken with Pav Bhaji masala as your dip made it like a mini burst of flavours in your palette.
*Lamb Chops – I wouldn’t have ever thought mushroom sauce would go so well with such a traditional Indian dish. Try it to believe me.
The aromatic mains were at another level, of course specialized for more international customers but the level of spiciness can always be adjusted to suit each individual.
*Lamb Gucci Korma – Over and Over again this dish has won the hearts of many as told by the staff and I don’t think there were wrong in saying that. Hint of truffle is so evident that every bite is absolutely wonderful with the tender meat.
*Kali Mirch Chicken – Don’t be agitated to try this dish since like the name it is not that chili it is more like a subtle gravy blended in with piquant spices which aren’t too strong. Goes well with Naan.
*Murg Biryani – I am a Biryani crazy girl and my Indian meal is not completed if I haven’t had Biryani. I did feel the ‘masala’ could be a bit more to adjust with the quantity of the rice.
And now we come to the climax of my Dinner date and my favorite section which is the Dessert. The Indego dessert platter has some of the classic sweets in small portions so you get a hint of all these pretty little devils without feeling too full. The dessert platter is as satisfying as the food and I am happy that each sweet dish had it’s own charm and essence.
Now you know how content I feel to try this restaurant especially since I was suggested this place by a few but didn’t really got the time to try it out.
