Get ready to be mesmerized by the beauty of this wonderful hotel, Taj. As you enter this place take a moment to appreciate the gorgeous decor and of-course the huge fairy tale like chandelier. This hotel is covered in pure white marble with subtle lighting which makes the ambiance so romantic, so you know if you have to impress your date where to head (wink, wink). I am not that much of a selfie person but wooed by the charm of this place I had to take a few.
I was recently invited here to try the Iftar buffet at Tesoro which serves Peruvian cuisine. For people who are not aware let me give you a bit of history. Peru doesn’t have it’s own national cuisines but instead it is a combination of international cuisines bought by the immigrants with a hint of Peruvian culture. It mostly consists of Chinese, Japanese, Italian and Spanish. For me it was my first time so I was very much excited and looking forward to my Iftar here.
Tesoro in itself is another stunning restaurant with posh interiors sure to make you go gaga but what made my visit even more special was the breathtaking view of the ‘Burj’. I was warmly welcomed by the hospitable staff who took absolute care of me while I enjoyed my food and time here. The massive restaurant has a very smart layout with food counters widely spread around. Starting from the Ceviche and Salad counter and moving on to the Appetizers and the main course.
Ceviche Bar – This mini station has a lot to offer especially if you are a lover of Japanese cuisine. Well presented in small trays you get to taste each dish without overindulging. Loved the Sushi and the Potato, I was quite hesitated to have Sushi for Iftar since it is raw but believe me the taste and flavours are something not to be missed.
Appetizers – Since it is Ramadan just to go with the flow of the culture and tradition they had an array of Arabic dishes on display like the smooth Hummus, delightful Baba Ganoush, Olives and a few more dips. I don’t think I am over-exaggerating at all by saying that these dishes were near to perfect.
Main course :- I was so embarrassed to keep going to the station again and again just to enjoy each and every bite of the relishing main course but not my fault if the food is so good.
*Chicken Legs in Chinese Sauce – A lovely blend of sauces marinated deeply into the skin gives each bite a tantalizing taste which I enjoyed, this would be a must try dish here.
*Penne Arabitta – Well I think this was one of the dish which was pretty basic not that it was not good but it just didn’t taste different from the usual.
*Vegetable Quesadilla – At times I am so disappointed by this item since it is too dry and lacks any kind of moisture but over here the quesadillas are generously filled with stir fried veggies and every bite oozes cheese. Isn’t that what we all desire?
*Anticuchos (Beef/Chicken) – Excellently flavorsome and tender pieces of meat is what you experience in this dish. Succulent flavour and juices from the meat is what I want in a nice grilled item.
*Vegetable Tagine – Since I am use to having the meat tagine this item here did come as a let down. Especially in terms of texture.
*Honey Glazed Potatoes – Weather you are a kid or an adult you will surely find this simple dish fantastic. Can anybody so no to potatoes?
*Ginger and Soy Glazed Vegetable – More then the veggies the gravy of this dish was marvelous. I don’t think it can get a much better then this!!
*Lamb Oozi – The rice lacked the juices of the meat but the meat was absolutely soft and juicy.
Think you are full by now? No, wait for the amazing dessert counter where you get to taste the warm Umm Ali, Cakes, Panna Cotta, Cheesecakes and so much more. I was surely impressed by the presentation especially with the white chocolate sticks and cookie sticks which made me nostalgic too, the kids were loving it. Isn’t this all what you want to experience in a buffet with great classy food and appealing atmosphere.
So my followers this place is surely not to be missed, get going today to experience the true Peruvian culture and a special mention about the restaurant manager Mohit for making us feel so relaxed and comfortable.
