I was on cloud 9 when the tallest hotel in the world agreed to sponsor my first foodie meetup and that too in one of the best Italian restaurant Dubai has to offer. I with a bunch of few foodies came here to experience the Luciono Brunch at Positano. Why Positano? Because 5starters, 3mains and lovely desserts is what I needed to kick start my amazing brunch. Positano is a small city in Italy and inspired by some of its cuisine, Positano brings to us the authenticity of Italy in Dubai.
Contentment atmosphere with lot of natural light seeping into the room gives this modernize restaurant a very pleasant feel. This place would be perfect for business lunches too. For their Saturday brunch called the Luciono brunch they have a set menu from where you can choose a number of appetizers, Pizzas, Pastas and Grilled items. I don’t think you can get a better deal for 160dhs with the lovely atmosphere and comfort food.
We started our foodie meetup by selecting 5 starters and with some softly baked breads.
*Bruschetta Al Pomodoro – Sauteed luscious red tomatoes with herbs were just perfect on the crispy toast.
*Parmigiana Grigliati- Didn’t know eggplant could taste this good until I had this mixture of cheesy juicy eggplant. Beautifully presented, a hint of perfection in every detail.
*Insalatina Di Mari – If you enjoy fried and crispy seafood with a dash of lemon this would make a great starter.
*La Caprese Di Bufala – Pine-nuts, herbs and fresh Buffalo cheese is something you savor if you are a true cheese fan like my husband. Not really what I would choose but my hubby adored it.
*Insalatina Di Riso – I wasn’t really sure about this shrimp salad because it was very basic and too bland for my liking but feel this would be a choice for some healthy person for sure.
Positano has a set brunch menu options for the Lusiano brunch every Saturday so we had the option to choose from any one Pizza, Pasta and Grills. But since they were so generous with us we were lucky to try most of the options here. For the Pizzas we tried the Margarita and the Chicken Pizza. Both the Pizzas were a bit chewy but I wouldn’t say it was not enjoyable but it could have been more softer and pleasant.
Coming to the Pastas we tried the Risotto with Truffles and Penne Arbiatta in Eggplant. I completely loved the Penne Arbiatta in Eggplant, with cheese and juicy tomato sauce this was a very good choice to go for. The Risotto with Truffle on the other hand was super fancy it tasted incredible with those terrific truffles but was a bit salty too.
From the Grill section we were surprised by this huge platter of Chicken and Jumbo Prawns, just by looking at it I was full but have to try it since it looked excellent. The Jumbo Prawns were fabulously grilled to perfection and had got this oddly golden brown color which looked superb. I became a fan of this dish. Meaty, tender and juicy is just how I would like to remember this dish. Chicken in comparison to the Prawns was delicious too but I would choose the Prawns any day not because there was something wrong with this dish but because I really liked the succulent flavours in the prawns more then the chicken.
And lastly just to complete that sweet little experience they have this satisfying and glorious dessert which are Tiramisu, Chocolate Cake and Ricotta Cheese Cake. Tiramisu comes in this cute little jar and taste wise it is so rich and creamy. While going through this I can easily forget the worlds worry this thing here is a stress reliever. Being a Chocolate lover the flour less cake was chocolaty but the bread could be softer to make it that comforting dessert which we all crave once a while. The Ricotta Cheesecake was a beauty filled with chocolate shavings and a crunchy base did make this dessert outstanding for me.
If you are looking for a place which oozes that true Italian charm your search ends at Positana. For 160dhs this place is an excellent location to impress your guests with super good food and fab interiors. Looking forward to my next brunch here soon.
