Being in London, I always wonder about the love and fondness for Indian food among the non-Indians and this new curiosity got me to try a few of the best Indian restaurants London has to offer. So starting my Indian culinary journey from none other than Mint Leaf, since opening in Dubai this restaurant has set a high standard when it comes to modern Indian Food, let’s see if the London branch as well can astonish me with its cooking.
Laid down in the busy streets of Haymarket, Mint Leaf is an easy search, but as you make your way to the basement of this restaurant you are away from the noisy centre, you could easily settle in for a subtle romantic meal in here. If you are here for a few drinks or just for food both ways Mint Leaf is a perfect choice. Begin by ordering their Grill Platter where you can sample a range of their signature grills and kebabs. Be it Paneer, Chicken or Lamb each dish is marinated in unique Indian herbs and spices which leave your palate craving for more.
Can’t decide what to have for mains? Go for the delicious Murg Tikka Makhani or a creamy coconut texture Meen Moileey which shall give you are real homely Indian flavours. With the option of Rice or Breads, it is best to have these sinful gravies with Hot Naans, my absolute favorite being the Stuffed Aloo Naan which with Dal Tadka goes perfectly well.
After these outstanding dishes opt for the Dessert Platter which shall complete your meal here. Served in a beautiful board is the famous Kulfi Ice cream, heavenly Creme Brûlée, unique glazed Pineapple and a pleasing Passion Fruit Cake which is appealing yet very light making it an excellent ending to your meal here at Mint Leaf.
I left Mint Leaf with the only thought of getting my entire family back here so that they too can sample the real Indian delicacies in the centre of London.
