Daintree Rainforest – You can either head here for a day trip or take it easy and explore it over the course of a few days. Regarded as one of the oldest rainforests in the world this place is also listed as a World Heritage. Make sure to take a cruise at the Daintree River where you will be able to witness some wildlife including crocodiles. From Daintree Rainforest you can even venture into Cape Tribulation where you can bypass beaches, hiking trails, or some Boardwalk. Port Douglas – An hour drive from Cairns this town is also another passage to Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest. Apart from these two popular attractions you should check out the two acre Wildlife Habitat where can you can see some kangaroos and koalas too. Flames of the Forest is an interesting place to have dinner as its the only rainforest dining experience in Australia, in the afternoons you should stroll down at the Four Mile Beach which is pretty famous here.

Palm Cove – A 30min drive to this paradise is a relaxing way to unwind at a coastal retreat. You can even held wedding, parties or occasions in this heavenly abode. This place is a perfect place for wellbeing and to unwind.
Chillagoe Mungana Caves National Park – To explore this area you should start early as its a 3hour drive from Cairns. These limestone caves are supposed to be 400million year old and the excitement to walk along the pathway is speechless. Things to see around here are Donna Cave, Royal Arch Cave, Chillagoe Smelters, Bauhinia Cave and the Pompeii Cave. Apart from the caves there are a lot of bird species to watch out for.
Josephine Falls – Considered one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Cairns these are a must visit. These falls have been used often for commercial backdrops too, you can swim in the shiny blue water or unwind at the beach. Many families even go here for picnics, or for the view from the platform.
