As I walk into this place I was warmly greeted by the hospitable staff who happily guided me to my table. This place is pretty huge considering it accommodated the event as well as it was open for lunch. The setup is pretty basic and lighting quite dim. I am glad the sofas were soft and comfy though.
Moving on to the food we were served some of Asha Bhosle’s favorite dishes and even got to try their very new coastal menu. For the appetizers even though I did miss few things because of being late, I still managed to get a bite of few.
*Calamari – It was an absolute delight to have this crunchy well marinated squid. The Indian ‘masalas’ were so evident in it. Very different from the usual Calamari’s we get in almost every other restaurants.
*Chicken Tikka – Succulent and juicy is what I would say these small meaty pieces were could have been a little more tender though.
*Spicy Prawns – The presentation was done great, a lot of effort goes into making the perfect prawns. These were a bit too salty but the herbs and spices did make it taste delectable.
We were spoil here, one after the other the main dishes were served. Wished they kept it on the table so I could take some pictures for my foodie followers.
Main Course
*Dal Makhani – Rich, Creamy and heavenly and tasted so delightful with the Rice.
*Paneer Masala – The gravy was fab but the paneer was hardly cooked. It could have some taste but very bland. The huge pieces don’t make it tempting either.
*Rogan Josh – Meat wasn’t too tender but the gravy was wonderful. My hubby loved it though he wouldn’t mind going for another round of it.
*Dal Fry – Infused with the traditional Indian flavours did this standout. Thick consistency and that yummy tadka added more flavours to this ordinary dal.
I don’t think any Indian meal could be completed without some sweet desserts. So for the final round we were served up with the ever so popular Gulab-Jamun, Ras Malai and Fruit Platter.
*Gulab Jamun – These were the perfect thing we needed to end our lovely lunch here. The syrup contained bits and pieces of dry fruits which could be easily tasted in every bite.
* Ras Malai – I was not too contend about the Rasmalai because after having the gulab jamun they just didn’t come across that amazing. The syrup could be more cremier but the Ras Malai tastes very light and airy.
*Fruit Platter – Freshly cut exotic fruits were my favorite and especially if it contains Passion fruit, Kiwi and Strawberry. At least after that heavy meal I needed to have some healthy.
Overall a nice place to dine and I have heard their Biryanis are amazing too. So I be heading here soon to try that, after all I am Biryani lover. If you have guests over and you looking for a place to impress with good Indian food this is the place to be.
