Pier 7 in Dubai Marina which is known for its stunning restaurants and one such place is celebrity chef Simon Rimmer’s restaurant ‘The Scene’. If you are a Brit living in the UAE and are looking for some nostalgic dishes with some occasional twist this is the place to try. Recently Chef Simon was in town to introduce a new Christmas menu at the outlet and there I was trying some of his favourites and enjoying a subtle lunch with him.
The menu is kept simple and the dishes are extremely heartwarming and festive. There are four appetisers, to begin with, and my most adored one was the Salmon Tartare, and the Curried Cauliflower soup too was unique with brilliant textures.
From a choice of four mains, I went with my beloved Wild Mushroom Tagliatelle and some of my intimates choose the exquisite Roast Turkey and the Braised Beef Cheek. The aromatic fragrance of the meat had allured our table, make our stomachs rumble with joy.
And for the Dessert round, we had four variations of Puddings and pleasures. Even though I thought my favourite would be the Black Forest Trifle but to my surprise my heat went for the Blondie Sundae, guilty as ever I did finish one massive portion.
