Getting up late on a weekend and not being apologetic is what I like about Friday’s but what overwhelmed me was my tasting at Solo at the iconic Raffle’s Hotel. This restaurant is made with so much of love and attention that the hardwork is visible in its atmosphere and alluring interiors. This place serves one of my favorite cuisine which is Italian and not only that the menu is very unusual too. It doesn’t just serves the basic dishes but food which is arousing.
The servers are pleasing and friendly they helped me decide some of the signature dishes this place has to offer. Danielle, the manager served us a drink imported especially from Italy and is served only at this place, doesn’t this makes you happy. It was a non alcholic beer which had a strong bitter taste, you might either love it or avoid it. I was very content with my berry Mocktail which is why I went for a second round of it.
So the appetizers which debuted on our table were :-
*Grilled Rock Octopus – For people who would love to try this dish for the first time this is the place to try it. It is not to overpowering and has a subtle flavour to it. Presentation wise the chef has done a great job.
*Beef Tartare – Again presentation wise the chef has mastered the creativity. Taste wise I would say it was moderate and needed a bit more moisture.
*Fried Zucchini – Crisp Zucchinis oozing out a delicious sauce is the perfect way of presenting this dish.
Mains consisted of some prominent must have dishes like Truffe Rissoto and Pollo Pizza. The Rissoto takes a while to be served but it is definitely worth every second. Rich, creamy and filling with a flavoursome mushroom texture in every bite. The Pizza on the other hand was a bit disappointment, it was too salty and just didn’t stand out. I did mention it to the staff who took the criticism very well and hopefully on my next visit I be surprised by the improvement.
The Desserts are a real winner here. Stemed Chocolaty Tiramisu is a marvelous creation and a comforting dessert. The Seven lemon dessert is too true with its name and provides us with a zesty sour taste which comes across very well.
Solo would be loved by many Italian Food lovers out there and apart from this they even have a outdoor lounge which can be enjoyed during this pleasant weather.
