A tranquil Doha escape at Sharq Village and Spa

Having the privilege of staying in Dubai, I made sure to carry on my passion for travelling, and in the last few months, I have visited all the six wonderful Emirates. With my voyage not just being limited to Dubai this time I set to explore our neighbouring and upcoming city Doha. Unlike Dubai, this city is peaceful, infused with the cultural history and yet has all modern amenities which makes this place desirable.

After a short 40min flight to Doha, I choose to reside at one of Ritz Carlton resort properties Sharq Village and Spa. Having done my usual research, I believe this property would be the right fit for my family and me, as it has beach access, some restaurants which make my love food even more intense and most importantly an overwhelming spa facility.

Being in a new country, I love to be able to have the cultural highlight which broadens my understanding about the people, and the city. Staying at Sharq Village made me overjoyed as this luscious resort has a Qatari setting and the architectural heritage which I was on the look out for.

Located just a few minutes away from the Doha Corniche, and the Islamic Cultural Museum I didn’t have to spend much time travelling which was a big relief as the scorching heat is not something I fancy.

Being with family, we spend much of our time lounging at one their serene pools or by the beach which was much needed after a long week. Our Resort View rooms had pretty much all the amenities which one would need during their stay here.

If any of you are on the adventure side, you could go for snorkelling, diving or for the more subtle activities take time out and go for boating or relish the Turkish tea time ceremony in their marvellous lobby.

The highlight of the resort is their Six Senses Spa; the spa is like a mini sanctuary which has a village theme. Surrounded by the earthy theme, you might want to book a couple of their massages; the De-Stress Massage rejuvenated my body making me feel energised and merry.

Even though my stay here was just for the weekend, I promise to come back soon to unwind and feel more connected to the culture and the wonderful people I met on my journey to Qatar, Doha.
