Thassos is a stunning Greek island, located in the northern Aegean Sea. No visit to Thassos is complete without visiting its stunning beaches. From the pristine Paradise Beach to the popular Golden Beach, there’s a beach for everyone on the island. La Scala Beach, Psili Ammos Beach, Marble Beach and the rest of Thassos’ stunning coastline are sure to take your breath away. Apart from the beaches, the Giola lagoon which is around 50 min away from the main town is one the most spectacular places to visit in Thassos, the shimmering green water and its closeness to the sea makes it even more amazing.

Activities to look forward to Hiking in Thassos is one the most popular things to do, and the island is perfect for that. Mount Ipsario is the tallest mountain here and people usually start their hike from the village of Kazaviti, or the village of Theologos. If you are not into hiking then even cycling is another favourite activity. Some more things to consider are fishing, taking a horse ride

Finally, let’s discuss how to get to Thassos from Athens. The quickest and most convenient way to reach the island is by ferry, with several daily services departing from the port of Kavala. Alternatively, you can fly to the nearby airports of Kavala or Alexandroupolis, and then take a ferry to Thassos.
