Monastery of Panayia Nikous is a mere 800 metres away from hora, another place to check out for cultural buffs, along with the Byzantine Museum

Beaches – Kythnos is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in Greece, around 70 beaches if I am not mistaken. The serene Kolona Beach, the golden sand of Loutra Beach, and the picturesque bays of Episkopi and Martinakia Beach are some of the most popular ones to visit.

The springs are located in the village of Loutra and are believed to have healing properties for a variety of ailments. Visitors can enjoy a relaxing soak in the warm waters, which are surrounded by lush vegetation and scenic views.

Dryopida, get a real feel of the island by visiting this traditional town on the East Coast, there are also several churches here for you to visit and a Folklore museum. Towards the end of the village is also a cave called Katafyki, quite a remarkable place to tour at an altitude of 190 metres above sea level.

Hikers will love the island’s scenic trails, which offer breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea. You can even opt for many sea activities like snorkelling, diving, fishing and even boating.

Getting to Kythnos – Kythnos is easily accessible from Athens, with regular ferry services departing from the port of Lavrion. The journey takes approximately two hours, and there are several ferry operators to choose from.
