Staying in Dubai, I barely get to visit the cultural city of Sharjah but when I finally got the opportunity I realised how much I have missed in terms of history, traditions and heritage. Sharjah, is not far from Dubai but on weekends I would prefer to lounge in my pyjamas at home but today it was different as I was packing my bags to head to a city which has been on my list forever.
The Act Hotel in Sharjah send me an invite to come and experience their hospitality and overlooking the Al Majaz waterfront this opportunity seemed perfect. After a bit of touring around the city, I checked into my beautiful hotel.
About the hotel:-
A modern moderate size lobby which has a cafe on one side and the other side is used for guest services and reservation. It has a decent size waiting area too, the staff are helpful, friendly and swift in sorting out the paper works and escorting you to your room. Since it was the Sharjah Book Fair month the hotel was relatively busy than usual.
My room was an Executive Lagoon Suite which has a spectacular living space with the window giving you the panoramic view of the Waterfront. It has a kitchenette which you could use to cook or warm up food, a nice option for a family with kids or fussy eaters. You can even find a coffee machine and complimentary water with a side of a fresh fruit bowl. The generous staff had also left an afternoon tea sampler in my room with sweet and savoury dishes.
The room has all the amenities which you would require, from a prayer mat, charging points, spacious cupboards and a directory. There was a turndown service as well which is a plus point.
Services:-
Before booking a hotel, I usually go over the list of services they provide and when it comes down to The Act hotel, it did tick all the checkboxes. From spa, health club, meeting rooms, jacuzzi, swimming pools, kids play area and a fancy ballroom, you name it and they have it.
Food:-
Apart from room service, you can find amazing food at their buffet restaurant Oscar. They have quality dishes, be it salad, soups, grills, or curries. Another enjoyable fact about their hotel is their Poolside BBQ on Saturday’s, a fabulous way to enjoy the pleasant climate.
Being in the centre of Sharjah, The Act Hotel is an ideal choice for people who want to live in the heart of the city. This hotel is barely a few steps away from the waterfront which makes evening walks perfect. The Act hotel, you made my experience in Sharjah a memorable one.
